Janet Fitch
hosted by Tony DuShane

There are times, rare times, when I interview someone and the only thing I can think of it how fast I can get out of the interview because they're either dumb as a brick or their egos have a hard time fitting in small places like cafes and bars.

Then there are times I walk away from an interview wishing I had more time with the person, wanting them to come over for dinner.

It's funny, I've been able to meet some of my heroes who I've followed for years and after the interview I would never want them over my house for dinner. Remember I interview for other publications, so those people may or may not have been a guest on Drinks with Tony.

Janet Fitch was by far one of the most interesting and coolest authors I have met. I'd love to ply her with a bottle of wine and just hang out until the wee hours of the morning discussing books and music and life.

There's a reason she was chosen for Oprah's Book Club, she's a great writer.

I still need to read White Oleander, but her latest book, Paint it Black succeeded in making me a life long fan of her work.

I ask every author, "What advice would you give beginning writers?" Janet Fitch gives the best answer to that question in the interview below.

Pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy this chat with Janet Fitch.
