Mark Haskell Smith Mark's debut novel Moist was released October 2002 by LA Weekly Books. I met Mark at Barnes & Noble a few hours before he was scheduled to do a reading. It didn't take any arm twisting to get him out of the clean & bright Barnes & Noble to a dark & dirty bar down the street. We hit Moe's across from Jack London Square in Oakland, where Amtrak trains run in front of the bar all day and the bartenders pour gratuitously. Mark ordered Samuel Adams, I ordered Dewar's and we settled into a booth. Mark is also a screenwriter. Some of his credits include Playing God, Anaconda and Excess Baggage. During the interview he discusses his frustration with the development of some of the films he's worked on as well as the successes. So, sip your scotch, squeeze in the booth with us and welcome to another edition of Drinks with Tony. Mark Haskell Smith part 1: Mark Haskell Smith part 2: Mark Haskell Smith part 3:
