Drinks with Tony is an interview show with authors. Started in 2002 as a podcast, it’s also aired on various radio stations throughout the years.

DuShane spent 9 years profiling authors twice a month for the San Francisco Chronicle. He’s the author and screenwriter of Confessions of a Teenage Jesus Jerk. The film was directed by Eric Stoltz and available on Prime or on DVD. He teaches screenwriting at UCLA Ext. and is working on his next novel.

2013-2018 Drinks with Tony was on hiatus. In a deep depression I asked myself, when was the last time I was happy about something, truly giddy, and I remembered doing Drinks with Tony in studio at Radio Valencia every week. So, I decided to start Drinks with Tony as a podcast again, and I’ll do it weekly and maybe I’ll get 10 authors and if that’s all I get I’ll stop. That was over 200 weeks ago, and doing the show was a godsend during covid lockdowns, just to chat with other authors, most I haven’t met yet, who were also struggling with their writing, readjusting to uncertain futures, and seeking resilience in all of it.
