Alta Ifland is the author of Two Queens and a Chronicler.

She left Romania with her dissident husband in 1991, in the chaos following the collapse of the communist regime. She ended up in Florida sponsored by a community of Lutheran ministers, which was her first taste of culture in the United States. She found her way to Northern California and imbedded herself in the literary community. It’s a fascinating journey.
