The Tenderloin is a neighborhood in San Francisco that’s often misunderstood, usually just driven through with the windows up and doors locked, and it has taken a really hard hit since the pandemic. Black has worked there for 30 years as a bartender, I spent some of my years living in the TL, as the locals call it, after moving from the Mission District, and Carolyn has spent a major part of her SF life there as well.
